Join us in planting native plants at Fleming Memorial Park, all are welcome!
The City of Rogue River will be installing a Riparian Demonstration and Learning Site at Fleming Memorial Park. The Community Work Party will be led by the City of Rogue River and Seven Basins Watershed Council. We will be planting over 400 native plants in new planting areas that will be installed at Fleming Memorial Park. The new Riparian Demonstration and Learning Site will serve as a model to the community of how to protect and enhance your own property as well as protecting water quality. No prior experience is needed to participate.
The Community Work Party will be on March 12, 2016 from 9AM-12:00PM. The work party will be located at Fleming Memorial Park located at 8880 Rogue River Highway in the City of Rogue River. The event is free. Tools and gloves will be available for use during the work party. Lunch will be provided. If you would like to attend, please RSVP by March 10 by calling Rogue River City Hall at: 541-582-4401.
The City of Rogue River is dedicated to protecting water quality and our beautiful Rogue River. “This is a great opportunity for local citizens who’d like to directly help us update and enhance one of our City Parks and learn about techniques for planting native plants.” Elisa Dawson, City of Rogue River Assistant Planner. This project is part of a grant the City of Rogue River received from Jackson Soil and Water Conservation District to improve water quality and stream bank stability along the Rogue River.
